Freelander Td4

Ah, proud moment.  My first-born wants to buy his first Land Rover.   ;D
He's seen a nice looking 2005 Freelander Td4 (he'd prefer a Defender, but you've got to start somewhere!).  We're going to see it at the weekend, so any pointers to problems/issues that we should look out for would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom.

full lock both ways in forward and reverse to check the 4wd is working, any clunking or heave steering and there might be a problem, rear brakes can be problematic, back door handle hanging off and or rust where it mounts. all 3/5 windows go up and down (wire operated). crankcase breather on the head has been changed or uprated.  if your not going off road with it then 2wd will be ok and better on fuel.
