New mot rules ???
« on: May 11, 2017, 06:55:26 PM »
OK the 90 went for its mot with the same roof rack and rear ladder it has had for years. And it failed on rear number plate obscured by the ladder. It's a brown church galvanised roof rack so I'm not chopping and welding mounts. Can I put the number plate on the drivers side ??

Many thanks Bill

Simple, if the number plate can be read from approx 30 yds it should not fail, ask for an appeal form & appeal to VOSA or whatever they call themselves today. You could phone them & ask for clarification. You could also ask the Test Station to show you what reason for rejection they are basing their decision on, testers have to obey the standards laid down for them not invent their own.

Hey Bill, why don't you just take the ladder of for the MOT then put it back on after- simples ;)
