Comp mudflaps

Curious to know what folk are using for mudflaps on comp safari motors? Bought some 4mm rubber sheet which refuses to stay flat and curls up. Looked at truck mudflaps but it's 6mm which seems overkill.

I used 'pre owned' conveyor belt on my old racer. It has a fabric / cord inner layer and worked a treat (Must ask Alistair if they are still attached ?)
