SLROC - Coronavirus (COVID19) Update - 17th May 2020
In Scotland the advice has not changed and is still Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives and therefore we are still effectively in "Lock-down".
It is the same with our governing body, Motorsport UK, who have not changed their stance and Motorsport can not take place until at least the 1st of July.
The SLROC committee met by Teleconference during the last week to discuss the current situation and continue to fully support both of the above.
You will of course realise that until government advice changes and until Motorsport UK update its guidance and allows permits to be issued we are unable to put on any events, whether Competitive or Green Road Runs.
We have started to consider how will we put on events when allowed, but taking in to account the inevitable requirements of social distancing. So whilst the events themselves will not change, the way they are organised and run may seam very different in the future. We will let you know what this looks like once we have reviewed any new guidance issued.
At present no decision has been made on the various 2020 Championships. When we are able to re-start, we will consider the number of events available and the viability of continuing this years Championships.
During our meeting, the committee did decide to put on another online social event - look out for more details soon. We also decided to support a couple of local Food Bank Charities - again, more details to follow.
We sincerely hope that very soon, but only when it is safe to do so, we can get back out on the hillsides and in the forests to enjoy our Land Rovers in their natural habitat.
