Email and "approved" route map from the landowners today. Another couple of minor mods but we have got over 20 miles of route approved, through some spectacular scenery of lochs and glens and about 15 miles of single track road to get into and out of the site.

I'll post up the full details over the weekend but as the route starts off a maybe hard to find single track road my plan is to start in Aberfoyle where there is a garage with fuel , toilets and all manner of retail opportunities...if you like tartan gonks.

So, be in Aberfoyle at the Free car-park to the rear of the Woollen Mill for 10.00 on Sun 18th Nov. - with enough fuel for at least 40 miles of driving !!

Plan, as usual, will be to organise groups of 4-5 vehicles and set off at intervals so we do not have a conga-line convoy. Route will have been sign-posted, maps will be available. Given the huge area we'll be driving in I'm going to have to insist that everyone signs in and out so we do not have drama looking for "lost" vehicles whose owners are already home....

Cheers,

Gene

Sorry Gibby, there is a specific clause in the permission about not bringing pollutants into the Forest.....

Guys, anybody coming today take care on the roads - at 0630 this morning the gritters were out locally on the A811 as it was very cold overnight. The back roads round Aberfoyle DON"T get gritted and after yesterday's rain may be a bit slippery in places. While we were out yesterday checking the course it was raining at our height but there was snow above 200m, Ben Lomond and the surrounding higher tops had a coating of the white stuff and lower down got a dusting.
